Abigail Thompson began her Photography page ‘Abigail Thompson Photography’ back in 2013. She has volunteered as a Photographer for Parkinson’s UK Since 2017 and has completed many events on their behalf. Abigail is also part of the non-profit organisation Consett in Focus.

Abigail remembers as a child being given the family’s film camera to capture special moments.

Abigail began taking photos at family events when she was a child. At 13, she was fortunate to be gifted her first camera. From the first day, Abigail was out taking photos, she remembers going out with her dog and taking many photos of the scenery and being fascinated by a fallen tree.

Abigail tailored her GCSE studies around Digital Arts, studying Graphics, Additional IT and Art Textiles. She attended Durham Sixth Form where she studied Photography A Level as well as Art and Design.

Abigail took some time out following her A levels where she gained valuable life skills when studying her NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.

In 2017 Abigail returned to education and began studying Photography at Newcastle College University Centre. During her studies the Coronavirus Pandemic hit and Abigail documented the pandemic as her portfolio module. Abigail has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography.

Abigail has completed a range of small courses such as; Emergency First Aid at work, Health and Safety and an NVQ in Event Planning.
